Devgiri Fort - Monuments of Maharashtra

devgiri-fort

Acclaimed as one of the seven wonders of Maharashtra, Devgiri Fort has lot to say about the rich heritage of India. Built by the Yadava Kings, the fort was used as a wonderful defense system with asymmetric structures all around with an aim to confuse the attacking enemies.

It is surprising to know that the 12th century fort remains so intact that no change has been made to this fort all these years. It is believed that the fort has many secret passages and puzzles, many of them have no end points. Also, there are many confusing pathways inside the fort between the entrance and exit points, coincidentally the same. Curious and confused? Yes, the mysteries of the fort can be experienced when visited.

The triangular shaped Fort contains beautiful monuments namely Elephant Tank, Chand Minar and Chini Mahal. You can reach the top of the fort via a narrow bridge which allows only two people at a time to climb. The cannons with amazing carvings are worth exploring. Visit Daulatabad Fort, pass on the legacy of Indian Heritage to the next generations.
