Lothal, Harappan Site - Gujarat
While Indians were struggling to produce enough proof of their bronze age civilization, as most of the sites were lost to Pakistan,
the exploration that took place in the Western India revealed a gift called Lothal. When 100s of highly important archaeological
sites were found in Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, and Gujarat, Gujarat alone contributed to 50 plus sites. These sites extended the
archaeological routes to Ghaggar-Hakra River systems. Along with Lothal and Dholavira, Kalibangan and Rakhigarhi were discovered
during the post-independent archaeological rummage. Lothal means the Mound of the Dead in local language and has served as one
of the oldest docks in the history of our world. Surprisingly, Lothal is just under 90 km from Ahmedabad, the capital city of Gujarat.
