Qutub Shahi Tombs, is located at the distance of 850 metres away from the Banjara Darwaza. This tomb is considered to be one of the oldest tombs in India and so lots of tourists visit this place every day. The entrance of this tomb is built in Indo-Saracenic style of architecture. Other ornamentations of the tomb symbolises Islamic architecture.
Even during those ancient times, the interiors of the tomb are built meticulously with false ceilings, ornamental parapets and minarets
What can you experience?
These tombs are built by Qutub Shahis and later renovated by Salar Jung III, Mir Yousuf Ali Khan in the 19th century. The whole momuents is built of grey marble. Pointed arched that are 9-15 metres high adore all sides of the tomb. The structural beauty of this tomb is truly amazing. Like the Paigah tomb this tomb is also built for the royals. This tomb has now become the venue of Deccan festival which is commemorated by the State government every year, adjacent to this tomb is ‘Ibrahim Bagh’ garden which is yet another famous tourist attraction of Hyderabad.
Best time to visit
Qutub shahi tombs is open for the public on all days except on Friday, from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm. The entry fee for this tomb is Rs 10 for adults and Rs 5 for kids
