Idukki, which is known as the “Spice garden of Kerala”, is the second largest district with respect to its area. Idukki got its name from the Malayalam word "Idukku", meaning "narrow gauge". This place lies in the Western Ghats of Kerala. Idukki has the lowest density of population.
