Somanathpur Keshava Temple is a beautiful example of Hoysala architecture.It is one of the most beautiful and best preserved temples from the Hoysala Dynasty since 13th century.

Keshava Temple has religious and historical importance. It is not only a place of worship for devotees but also a testament to the beautiful architecture of the Hoysala dynasty. The temple is believed to have been built by King Narasimha III's minister Somanatha Dandanayaka and was completed in 1268 AD. The building of the temple reflects the unique Hoysala style, characterized by beautiful images, detail- sculptures and carvings. It is considered one of the finest examples of Hoysala architecture and is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The main attraction in Keshava temple is the large statue of Krishna holding a flute and another statue of lord Vishnu who will be in the form of Janardhana – An epithet of lord Vishnu.
