This day is for exploring the beauty of Bangkok. Start the day with a visit to Grand Palace housing many beautiful buildings including the most popular Temple of Emerald Buddha. Visit the Royal Regalia Museum with wonderful displays of royal jewellery and proceed to reclining Buddha Temple housing 95 pagodas. During afternoon, enjoy a long- tailed boat ride along the Chao Phraya River and witness the Thai life. Today you will be flying to Chiang Mai. Upon arrival at the Chiang Mai Airport, you will be received by our company personnel and transferred to the hotel. Your post lunch session will be a visit to the famous temples of Chiang Mai, starting from the 700 year old Buddhist Temples Wat Chiang Man, Wat Phra Singh and Wat Suan Dok. Today you will start your day tour by visiting the most sacred place in Chiang Mai, the Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. A popular Theravada Buddhist temple built on the Doi Suthep Hill which is 3500 feet above the sea level popular as the sacred relic of Lord Buddha. You need to climb 309 stairs to reach the temple, else you can use the cable car service which is chargeable. Next up you will visit the Phu Ping Palace, the winter palace of the Thai Royal Family. If Phu Phing palace is closed to public at the moment, you will be visiting the temple Wat Jed Yod instead. Afternoon, taste the real Thailand as you opt to ride on the cycle alongside the Ping River through local fruit orchards, lush paddy fields and also visit temples, markets and local Thai school on the way.Overnight stay in Chiang Mai
Today soon after your breakfast a 70 km drive from Chiang Mai will take you to an elephant training center at Ta Yaak Village. It is situated on the banks of the Mae Ping River and surrounded by hills making it a pleasant spot to hang out. As you arrive at the camp, you will mount on an elephant to ride around the camp. It is really an exciting activity to trek through the jungle and along the river, that too on an elephant. Your next activity at Chang Do will be Bamboo Rafting. You will board onto Bamboo Rafts and float along the Mea Ping River to enjoy some awe inspiring sights of Mother Nature. The Rafting program lasts about 1 hour, depending on the speed of the current. A little bit of cooking in today’s program. You will leave the bustling part of the city and visit a relaxing countryside to enjoy a cooking lesson with a local family in a nearby tranquil village. You can have a tour around the farm and meanwhile the chef will explain about the various herbs and ingredients. Afterwards you can choose any three courses and learn to cook it. Have the food you prepared for lunch on the terrace. After lunch, you will be transferred back to your hotel. Overnight at Chiang Mai.
The day starts with a 3 hour drive to Chiang Rai, when you are exposed to some awesome sceneries on the way. En route you will visit the Wat Rong Khun Temple. It is popularly known as the white temple as the whole temple has been built in a radiant white color with mirrored glass mosaics embedded in the white plaster. On the way you can meet tribal people living around, and record the moments spent with them to rewind later. Today morning you will visit Mae Sai, a border of Thailand and Burma. After certain formalities you will cross the Sai River into Tha Chilek, a border town in the Shan State of Eastern Burma. Here you can mount on a tricycle to explore the streets and markets of Tha Chilek,a chance to study the Burmese lifestyle. Next up you will be taken to the Golden Triangle, the world famous border point where Thailand, Laos and Myanmar meet. After lunch you will visit the Hall of Opium, a museum which concentrates on telling us the history of the Golden Triangle and the Opium trade.
