Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary embraces a vast stretch of mangrove forest with 24 mangrove tree species which forms the second largest stretch in the entire country after Sundarbans in West Bengal.

Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary is named after a small village in the state of Andhra Pradesh called Coringa.

Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary is very popular for housing the critically endangered white-backed vulture and long-billed vulture.

Another main speciality of Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary is that it has an 18 Km long sand pit that serves as the nesting ground for Olive Ridley-Sea Turtle in the months of January to March every year.
